Digital Stories has earned impressive recognition at the sixth edition of the Web Report journalism awards. In recent years the competition has established itself as the leading and most prestigious journalism contest in Bulgaria. Its jury brings together proven names from the world of media and communication.

This year, Georgi Karamanev and Digital Stories won the award in the Art and Culture category for the experiment “‘Sometimes I’ll Come…’: How AI Painted 10 Classic Poems”. The prize was presented by the minister of culture, the conductor Nayden Todorov, one of the most memorable guests of Digital Stories.

A total of 185 journalists took part in the competition’s six categories.

The award is a special recognition also because Digital Stories is among the winners for the third year in a row, after the awards in 2022 and 2021 came in the Technology and Innovation category. Georgi Karamanev also holds one more distinction, from 2019, as an author for 8 Magazine.

This year Digital Stories also won the journalism prize at the awards of BAIT, the Bulgarian Association of Information Technologies, presented under the patronage of President Rumen Radev. And so the most prestigious awards from the worlds of journalism and information technology came together.
